“Journaling with Jesus is a creative call to an authentic, intimate relationship with Christ through the art of prayer-journaling. Author Carol Round openly shares her own intimate journaling journey, initially borne of pain, and now bathed in promise—the hope of healing in Jesus. Allow Journaling with Jesus to take you deep into the heart of God, by showing you practically and inspirationally how to bare the depths of your own heart on the blank page. As you fill your journal with words of honesty, God will fill your heart with the wonder of His love.” —LYNN D. MORRISSEY, author of Love Letters to God: Deeper Intimacy Through Written Prayer “The initiative of God to restore relationship with every person requires our engagement. The age-old battle to create space to spend time with Him can be supported by the spiritual discipline of keeping a journal. Carol Round understands this. I encourage your pursuit of this commitment as you read Journaling with Jesus.” —STEVE LASWELL, author of The Journey–A Personal Journal and The Journey–Personal Notes from the Father

My Review:

I was so excited to discover this book. The title alone really intrigued me and made me super interested in the book. Although this book came from a Methodist’s point of view, and myself being a Baptist, I was not disappointed.
The author starts off by explaining what prayer is and it really spoke to me when she used examples, such as when people try to avoid working on their relationship with God by making excuses when it realistically “takes work from both sides” to have a better relationship with the Lord.
I really was amazed after reading about Carol Round sharing her personal experiences that she had with the Lord from her journaling and reading the other women’s experiences with journaling. It was so encouraging to see how much it helped them.
There’s a whole chapter on Journaling as a Spiritual Practice and it really explains the benefits of spiritual journaling. If you want to gain a closer relationship with the Lord, you should totally pick up this book!

I received this book from the author through Interviews and Reviews in exchange for an honest review. I was not obligated to provide a positive one.

    1. You’re welcome! You can borrow my copy if you’d like. 🙂
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention was that one of the ladies that shared their experiences with journaling in the book was a pastor, which I totally do not agree with, since women should not be pastors. The things you forget when you’re reviewing a book after reading it a few days ago… xD
