This was her last chance.
Her hand twisted high in the air.
When fifteen-year-old Esme Silver objects at her father’s wedding, her protest is dismissed as the action of a stubborn, selfish teenager. Everyone else has accepted the loss of Esme’s mother, Ariane—so why can’t she?
But Esme is suspicious. She is sure that others are covering up the real reason for her mother’s disappearance—that ‘lost at sea’ is code for something more terrible, something she has a right to know.
After Esme is accidentally swept into the enchanted world of Aeolia, the truth begins to unfold. With her newfound friends, Daniel and Lillian, Esme retraces her mother’s steps in the glittering canal city of Esperance, untangling the threads of Ariane’s double life. But the more Esme discovers about her mother, the more she questions whether she really knew her at all.

Hey everyone! I’m participating in a blog tour for A Princess at Heart, but I’m only posting a review for the first book in her series. Which is the one below. Let’s get into the book review!
Cilla Starling has lived in the Kappaka palace as long as she can remember. Prince Ethan Villn and his family are in the prisons of the palace, and Queen Villn rules over her fearful subjects. When Lord Rush confronts Queen Villn- resulting in Cilla, Ethan, and Ethan’s family’s freedom -they decide to fight back. So begins a journey, to and from the White Kingdom, a gathering of allies, and a battle against a distraught Queen.
The four royal siblings who live next door in the White Kingdom are more than ready to help, as Queen Villn has caused quite a stir in their kingdom. In fact, one of them holds a secret to the location of the lost Villn princess, Ethan’s beloved younger sister, and perhaps the only person with any hope of talking to Queen Villn. If, that is, she’s brave enough to leave the safety of the White Kingdom.
The Lost Princess is a twist on the regular fairy tales, including the princesses Rapunzel, Snow White, Ariel, Melody (Ariel’s daughter), Cinderella, and Belle.

Today I’m participating in the Worlds Beneath blog tour for K.A Emmons, but since I hadn’t read the first book before this blog tour, I am only reviewing The Blood Race.
I’ve been running from my past for one hundred years. And I’m still just a teenager.
I was selected by my teacher, Sensei, to train in The Dimension: a secret place of refuge for the ‘anomalies’ of past, present, and future earth. Here I would learn to connect to my ‘warrior within’ as Sensei calls it – to channel energy orbs, commute between realms, and even shape-shift into an alternate form. But never did I guess that my training would include taking on an anomaly student of my own: a loose cannon of a college guy named Ion.
Late one evening, I invite him over to Sensei’s house for a little chat; one that will turn his life upside-down. Shoving him into the broom closet turned portal, I drag Ion into the Dimension, opening his eyes to his true homeland: a realm of anomalies. His kin.
As we train to become Protectors of future Earth, battling each other as well as our own demons, I begin to realize that there’s more to Ion than I originally thought: a darkness he’s spent his life running from. And beyond that, a looming threat hidden in plain sight – something that could destroy me, him, and the future of Earth.
The Blood Race is K.A. Emmons’ debut novel, and the first book in a riveting and fresh YA sci-fi/fantasy thriller series. Pick up your copy of The Blood Race today!

Worst of all, Leo is a Spinner, cursed with a dangerous and forbidden power he can’t control.
The future of Singara is in Leo’s hands. Can he conceal his curse, claim the throne, and protect his realm? Or will he embrace his power and discover a far greater destiny . . . for himself and for his world?

To Price Evans, who has just moved into the quaint old house that was his grandmother’s childhood home, Sinbad looks much like any ordinary, long-haired ginger cat-the pampered and sole companion of Mr. Murphy, the cantankerous old man living next door. Little does anyone know that Sinbad lives in our world only when he isn’t busy (stirring up rebellion) in his real home: the magical Land of Tolk. There are signs though, that everything is not as it seems-like the two incredibly life-like wooden dwarfs that appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, in the small space between the Evans’ property and Mr. Murphy’s garage. When Price stumbles upon the gateway between these two very different worlds, he learns the truth about Sinbad and his nefarious plot to bring the conveniences of human technology (and pampering) to the peaceful and immortal inhabitants of Tolk, heedless of the impact of such potentially corrupting influences.
Price finds himself in the midst of a civil uprising, with the fate of Tolk hanging in the balance. What role will he play in exposing Sinbad as a liar and a fraud? Can the peace-loving Tolks expel the rebel forces before they destroy their way of life and their very world?
Even though he is an outsider, it is clear to Price that whatever happens next will determine the fate of the Land of Tolk and all of its inhabitants….

I had the pleasure of participating in the blog tour for Tricia Mingerink’s new book, Dagger’s Sleep (although I’ve listed the giveaway for Dissociate as well). So I kind of finished it last minute. I read most of it yesterday, and finished the rest of it like twenty minutes before posting this. So, more about the book:
A prince cursed to sleep.
A princess destined to wake him.
A kingdom determined to stop them.
High Prince Alexander has been cursed to a sleep like unto death, a curse that will end the line of the high kings and send the Seven Kingdoms of Tallahatchia into chaos. With his manservant to carry his luggage and his own superior intelligence to aid him, Alex sets off to find one of the Fae and end his curse one way or another.
A hundred years later, Princess Rosanna learns she is the princess destined by the Highest King to wake the legendary sleeping prince. With the help of the mysterious Daemyn Rand, can she find the courage to finish the quest as Tallahatchia wavers on the edge of war?
One curse connects them. A hundred years separate them. From the rushing rivers of Tallahatchia’s mountains to the hall of the Highest King himself, their quests will demand sacrifices neither of them could imagine.
